He signed with Madonna’s Maverick Records in 1999 and recorded with producer Dave Jerden (Alice in Chains). He also landed deals with Volcano Records, and New York Indie Label-Wrong Records with distribution through Sony’s Red Ink (Distribution). Darnell has also worked with producers such as Ron St. Germain (311, Tool, Bad Brains, U2, Mos Def, Jimi Hendrix), GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers), Chris Shaw (Sum 41, Sheryl Crow, Weezer, Cypress Hill) and co-label owner Daniel Wise (John Mayer, Scissor Sisters, Secret Machines). World-Renowned Producer, Rick Rubin (Def Jam Records, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Slayer) has been quoted as saying that ‘He (Ryan Darnell) is the next John Bonham’.

After numerous tours and shows, Darnell decided to play on the other side of the stage and pursue the management side of music. With more than a decade of music industry experience, his goal is to now actively take his artists’ career to the next level of success. Even in a managerial role, Ryan is never far from the music scene. He still actively works with the likes of Peter Lewit (NYC entertainment law attorney who represents some of the world’s most successful musical talent) and Ron St. Germain (311, Tool, U2, Mos Def, Jimi Hendrix). Tagline Media Management was formed because life is too long to wait for success to come to you.

Meet Management Team Member Chad Keilen

With over 7 years of project management experience, Chad understands the importance of leadership, persistency, dedication and follow-through, all of which he offers to the management team. Graduating from Ferris State University in 2001 with an engineering degree, Chad purchased a home on the east side of Michigan to work as a project engineer near Ann Arbor, the home for many great musical acts, such as Iggy Pop, The MC5 and Bob Seger. It didn’t take Chad long to be introduced to the music scene and offer his house as a practice spot for multiple local artists, including 2 bands which future-partner, Ryan Darnell was a part of.

Continuing engineering by day, Chad also developed a hobby side project, forming a property management company and taking on the roll as real-estate investor. Purchasing 7 additional houses, renting a total of 15 units, Chad learned the necessity of following a project from start to finish. But by night, Chad was coming home to watch and listen to great live music acts in the comfort of his own home. The combination of Chad’s love for music and thirst for business success leave him offering Tagline Media the business savvy necessary to drive musicians and their music to the next level.
